Enron-Contra Scandal
In the Pink scores for highlighting the philosophical connection between the Reagan Administration and Enron from Ken Lay's appearance on 60 Minutes: "Lay admits there were criminals at Enron. But throughout the interview, he insisted he was a victim, not a villain. Reagan (whoops, I mean Lay) insists that he didn?t have any knowledge about Iran-Contra (whoops, I mean falsifying Enron?s balance sheet) and blames everything on Oliver North (whoops, I mean Andy Fastow)."
As if the extensive connections between Reagan's heir and Ken Lay weren't enough.

I just finished watching The Smartest Guys in the Room and it dawned on me that Andy Fastow was the Oliver North of the debacle. I had to google the two names together (North and Fastow) and found this and the In The Pink site. Great minds think alike. Or, at least, equally metaphorically inclined paranoid minds think alike. Cool. Then it occurred to me that perhaps it was not simply a coincidence that George Bush, Sr. was the CIA architect of Iran-Contra and also a friend of Kenny Lay. This is the age of mind-control experiments, isn't it? Who would know better than a CIA agent how to paint someone into a corner and make them the fall guy? Andy Fastow may not have been just similar to Oliver North. Andy Fastow may even have been created by the same people who created Oliver North. Hey. It's an idea. Maybe even monkey-brained. But, we're 1000 monkeys blogging to our heart's content and we might be on to something despite ourselves.
