Happy Holidays
There was some noise in the conservative press before Christmas about how Christmas needed to be "saved" from "Xmas" and the generic "happy holidays." Me, I like "happy holidays" because it is inclusive of both different celebrations and multiple celebrations. We often speak of the holiday season as being the time between Thanksgiving and New Years, but really there are many holidays during that period. In addition to Christmas and Hanukkah, there is Kwanza, St. Stephen's/Boxing Day, the Feast of the Three Kings, New Year's Eve and Day, Festivus, and at least one other holiday commemorated on a postage stamp. So, why not say "happy holidays" and spread the joy and good wishes throughout the entire season? Why limit it to just one day?
So, best wishes to you, your family, and friends throughout the holidays.
